About

Horseshoe Bend, Arizona

Hi world! I’m Tamra, the person behind the blog posts.

If you’re looking for my photography website, you can find it here.

Although I’ve been a teacher for the last several years, I also have a background as a paralegal. And a dance teacher. And a yoga teacher. Okay… so, it’s safe to say I’ve done a lot of things professionally. The truth is that I’m constantly in search of living a life that serves me in a positive way and makes me feel fulfilled.

Photography, traveling, and living a life of adventure does that for me.

When I’m not mid-trip, I’m constantly in “what’s my next adventure” mode. I love being outdoors surrounded by nature, running stupidly long distances though mountains, backpacking and camping, practicing yoga, and rock climbing (even though it scares me!).

I was raised in the desert by hippie parents who fed me and my siblings organic meals every day, took us hiking nearly every weekend, and taught us deodorant is for the weak-hearted. It’s safe to say I was never cool, and I’ve learned to embrace that. My mom solo hikes the Camino de Santiago most years while my dad still runs several miles through desert trails multiple times per week, so it’s safe to say the outdoorsy lifestyle has stuck around and has rubbed off on me.

I got married young, had two daughters well before turning 30, and I’m obsessed with my two Shih Tzus. I’d love to say we are the perfect family, but we’re not. What we are, though, is pretty darn real, and I’m proud of the imperfect lives we lead together. My poor husband is surrounded by women – even the dogs are female. He’s a good sport.

Welcome to my little corner of the universe!
